Co. MD Programs
Hands
On Science started in Montgomery County in 1980 as a community
based science enrichment program. In the fall of 1982, the
Montgomery County Council of PTAs (MCCPTA) and its nonprofit
corporation, Educational Programs, Inc. (EPI) adopted the
Hands On Science programs as one of its offerings. Any Montgomery
County PTA can participate in these programs by identifying
a volunteer/chairman at their school.
|
Students
in private schools in Montgomery County can also participate
in Hands On Science classes through Hands On Science Outreach
(HOSO) - the nonprofit organization established to accommodate
requests beyond Montgomery County public schools.
Please
visit Kids Programs on this website for complete descriptions
of our school year and summer programs. The Hands On Science/HOSO
curriculum supports local and national standards for teaching,
content, and community involvement.
|
Hands
On Science programs also provide training and job opportunities
for parents, teachers, graduate students, retirees and other
qualified adults to share the fun of science. Classroom teachers
may earn CPD credits.
Join
us to bring more science enrichment to the children in your
schools.
